Testimonials

“The Wilmington Landbank is bringing life back into our community and bringing the neighbor back into our Neighborhoods.”

Hanifa Shabazz
Former President of Wilmington City Council

“Back in 2011 when I was in the Army in Afghanistan I had a lot of time to think about things. I decided I wanted a place to fix up and this program has allowed me the opportunity to do that. Now I have a place to call my own.”

Evan Sturtevant
WNCLB Homestead Program Participant

“As we plant trees, and paint store-fronts to make places more beautiful they become pleasing to come home to and provide a sense of well-being. That’s what the Landbank has given many people the opportunity to do.”

Jean Weaver
WNCLB Program

“The Wilmington Land Bank is helping people who want to own a home. They’re saying we’ll give it to you for next to nothing, or almost nothing, or nothing if you have the capacity and financial ability to get the project. The landbank is working with people to get all of the abandoned houses off the streets.”

Richard Dyton
WNCLB Participant, Builder
